This is an excellent article highlighting an excellent idea. We've had the same policy in place since the hostage situation. If we had done the same thing to Germany, after Hitler the Devil, they would not be our allies today. Things change. Times change. We must change.

This will not be easy. With up-coming elections, it looks like there will be a change in the civilian leadership. But we have to remember who runs Iran. The Mullahs.

Informative report on President Obama's special message to the Iranian people on the occasion of their New Year. A video of that message is provided, along with factual information, responses from Iranian representatives -- still, more sourcing from independent sources could have helped provide more context.

The BBC covers this story well. Obama at least is making a gesture toward Iran, even if it is compromised by more talk of Iranian help for "terrorism".

Iran and the US should reopen their embassies and open a direct air connection between New York and Tehran. Iranian help with the Afghan situation is essential, if even minimal stability is to be achieved.
