For years, US administrations called Israeli settlements "illegal" and an "obstacle to peace," but in recent years those terms have been replaced by a mere "unhelpful." It's good journalism only in that it presents an Arab view which we may not see often. But use of phrases like 'Zionist colonial enterprise' and 'imported settlers' are hardly objective. While some of the points made are legitimate, the intemperate language is really not helpful.

And where do the writer and his paper stand on Syrian and Hezbollah influence in Lebanon, neither of which is terribly helpful!
