A remarkably one-sided view of the events that have led to our current economic crisis and the dangers that lie ahead. It would be hard to discredit the notion that tyranny is a real danger given the scope of the problems we face, and certainly the recent "We hope Obama fails" rhetoric, especially that mouthed by Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, is condemnable. But author Robert Freeman fails to note that the economic crisis has both Democrat and Republican roots. And whatever tyranny may lie in wait is just as likely to be left-wing as right-wing in its origins. The arguments presented are much too simplistic and ignore too many key elements.

To those who want to pin blame on Democrats (all Republicans) and those who want to pin blame on Republicans (all Democrats), I want to shout "Wake up, please!" The forces that have taken us to the edge of economic peril cannot be identified in partisan terms, and neither can the potential dangers be so classified.
