Global Post uses this interactive special report to cover the effects of the global economic crisis in 20 countries, not including the United States. This is informative and interesting to use. What they need is a means to make their updates more prominent -- how new is this information?

If you take time to browse all 20 of the countries they have selected for information capsules, there is a lot of detail and color. There are a few statistics, but more anecdotes and observations.

When financial trust is destroyed the interdependent global economy has shown a remarkable interdependence. It is interesting that those in the villages with simple lives and survival skills seem to be surviving.

Combines on the ground stories about how people in various countries are coping with the economic slowdown, with some solid high level stats on economic performance and economic sectors that are suffering more than others.
