there is accurate analysis here about the culture of political news these days, mentioning a number of people who can so quickly respond with satire or irony, or sometimes, simply humor.. my primary criticism is that this focus doesn't show how so often, rachel maddow and others seriously inform viewers with their own analysis and interviews on issues, without the satire.

A good description of the Olbermann and Maddow counterpoint to right-wing hate mongering. I'm a great fan of both programs. And as a writer, I understand the power of sarcasm over Limbaughish ridiculousness like hoping America fails.

If one desires really absurd zany sarcasm, look no further than congressional Republican Jolly boys yuking it up–complete with outrageous fabrications and fairytale distortions–about efforts to clean up the mess they caused.
