Superb commentary by Robert Parry, in the wake of the Aipac/Israeli militarist triumph over Chas Freeman. The connection between the neocons (who include many rabid "supporters" of Israel) and the promoters of gargantuan US "defense" spending is made clear, with the skewing of intelligence to enlarge the trough from which the "defense" establishment feeds.

The neocons and the Israel lobby brought us the Iraq War catastrophe, and of course they are pushing hard for an even greater disaster, fomenting an attack on Iran. Will "protecting" Israel bankrupt the US? Cause a needless world war? These people are very dangerous indeed, and they receive the full support of the Wall Street Journal, and nearly full support from the Washington Post (though contrary messages get through, in the pages of the Post)
