I suppose Mutter wants us to come away from this story with the idea that in these tough times ineptness can be deadly for a newspaper. Fair enough. Surprising, though -- and disingenuous -- that the only "alternative" he mentions is charging for print copies. No discussion of going online only, but of course this is the irony we're (intentionally) left with in Mutter's piece.
