As economic forces suggest the imminent end of a printed Seattle PI, the editors write to the local competitor who, for a time, continue to publish. The PI has been significantly more open to progressive views than the somewhat regressive Times. The workers at the PI hope for the best.

The likely loss of the PI would be a blow to informed citizenry.
