Bush Adm. Weighed Restricting 1st Amendment

In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Justice Department secretly gave the green light for the U.S. military to attack apartment buildings and office complexes inside the United States, deploy high-tech surveillance against U.S. citizens and potentially suspend First Amendment freedom-of-the-press rights in order to combat the terror threat, according to a memo released Monday. Isikoff briefly mentions the several Yoo memos and their direct effects, but skirts expanding on the grand issue of the destruction of the U.S. Constitution.

Stopping Yoo depends on you. Restore the constitution and the rule of law, no matter who is president. The Military Commissions Act needs to be repealed. Criminal charges need to be filed against the top members of the Bush administration, to keep subsequent presidents from violating the constitution, including Obama.
