While Pelosi and Reid announced that the acting Architect of the Capitol will be looking into a conversion to natural gas, this is not the ideal solution for several reasons. NG is also a fossil fuel, in limited supply which emits carbon (although less than coal) and has its own set of problems involved in its drilling and transportation. Also, a change to NG requires retrofitting. If we're going to the expense, why not model options such as demand reduction, solar hot water and geothermal?
