I hadn't given any thought to the lack of Bush-bashing in President Obama's discussions, and the article certainly has something there. The author, a staunch critic of Obama and the Democratic party, manages to provide slightly more than the reductionist small-government claptrap upon which most conservatives rest their case. But ultimately the piece seems to be less about informing, more about consorting. The author clearly knows who will be reading this article, but what is more, he knows who will NOT be reading it. The authoritative writer demonstrates prescience by assurance, not reassurance, because an argument that sways the opposition is an argument that advances the issue. To this author, however, ideology is paramount, not issue, which tells me it wasn't written in good faith.
