Rhetoric vs. Reality: The Budget and the Campaign Promises
The budget overview President Obama released on Thursday attempts to make good on his most ambitious campaign promises in the areas of taxes, health care and the environment.
It also harks back to Obama’s populist-themed rhetoric about financial excesses by, for example, proposing the elimination of some perks popular among Wall Street executives and big corporations.
