A wholly relevant story, but the reporting was a bit dry. This cited some additional studies and experts, lending context to Tavis Smiley's survey. It lacks a human angle -- an anecdote or two would have made it more readable -- but overall, a straightforward report, with no big omissions or errors.

The author makes his whole case based on polls. Anyone knows that how you ask a question is usually the answer you'll get. However, with these pols, with the popularity of Obama, they sound about where they should be.

While this article was about the economics of Blacks, It could just as easily be about society in general.

I would have liked to hear more about the 16% of African Americans that believe their financial situation will worsen next year. Overall is was an interesting article.
