Education is always key. Once served on a committee at a church I attended because I was concerned with the growing number of teenage pregnancies at the church. Needless to say, it was safe to assume that these teenagers were not practicing safe sex. We hosted an HIV/AIDS awareness seminar. Prior to the event I received a great deal of material from the Center of Disease Control, the NIH and our local County Department of Health. I was disturbed by reported statistics and the increased number of young people infected in the south suburban area.
