Quality journalism brings awareness along with data that can be checked for accuracy. I appreciate the quote from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention because the Center has done a great deal of research in this area. Also, this article should be considered quality because it delivers a story about a woman who identified a misconception and attempts to serve a vulnerable group of women who are under served because of cultural stigmatization. Anyone in my opinion who attempts to save lives by taking on such a stigmatized cause and find funding for disease prevention should be news worthy.

Education is always key. Once served on a committee at a church I attended because I was concerned with the growing number of teenage pregnancies at the church. Needless to say, it was safe to assume that these teenagers were not practicing safe sex. We hosted an HIV/AIDS awareness seminar.
