Bobby Jindal and Racial Stereotypes

Boosters of Bobby Jindal's presidential prospects have suggested to me--correctly, I think--that his racial background could be less of a hurdle for white voters than Barack Obama's was because, as a South Asian American, Jindal would be perceived as a "model minority." Mostly trivial and deserving of neglect.

Bill Bradley was an unexciting speaker. Bobby Jindal came across as a lost ditto-head. Projecting him into a distant future race for president ignores the 40 years it might take him to grow into the job.

I have no idea why the author is comparing "coolness" with Jindal and Obama. While Obama make a speech that the majority of people said was great. Jendal, as someone said, "looked like someone gave him some index cards with the words, tax cut, tax cut, tax cut,etc.

You've got to admit "Obama's too cool for school" as my father use to say.
