While this article was old news, it's still relevant in as much as Mr. Steele is Black, and doesn't believe thats the reason he was elected. If Obama isn't elected, neither is Steele. What a lot of people don't understand is that the older Afro-Americans are mostly conservative. They are against Gays and abortion. They would gladly vote Republican, if they had a shiver of an idea of what to do next.

While Obama got over 90% of the Black vote, Bush and his policies, and Obama running not on race but the issues, unlike Sharpton and Jackson, was a big reason.
