The Independent again covers a relatively obscure issue in depth, though it's not hard to detect where the publication stands on immigrants' rights to re-open their trials. Is this a problem? I say no. We're still given an explanation of the rationale behind Mukasey's ruling, and there's nothing in here that's partisan in the sense that it's walking the line for the Democrats or the Obama Administration. A thorough, informative story.

Went beyond the surface to show the minefield that has been there for immigrants both documented and undocumented.

The true character of a people can best be shown by how they treat the least of those among them. I hate to think what this says about us as a people
