On different pages when it comes to race

I wouldn't describe us as cowards. But I do think too many of us are intransigent with regard to race. And, for too many of us, race remains a Rorschach test in that we still can look at the same thing and see something totally different. Full Story »

Our intransigence: Black politicians and ministers continues to maintain that Barack Obama’s replacement in the U.S. Senate must be African-American because Obama is a man of color. Interestingly, some of these same voices didn’t think Obama was “black enough” years ago when he ran against U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) for his congressional seat.
