Why in the world would President Obama, whose legacy has been sabotaged by a housing crisis that Donilon helped create and conceal, have hired him to run the most sensitive position of public trust in his administration? The article goes a long way in telling us about Donilon's shady background as the chief lobbyist for Fanny Mae and his involvement in the financial crisis but fails to give us any background he might have for his present appointment as National Security Adviser.

Donilon's shady financial background doesn't necessarily preclude the possibility that he could be an effective adviser on national security. We have only to look at the Supreme Court where some of the more progressive decisions were handed down by justices that were formerly segregationists or had some other serious flaws in their background.

Sheer makes his point well and supports it with facts. It's a disturbing piece that demonstrates why so many voters don't believe in our government any more.
