Discusses a possible Israeli nuclear attack upon Iran. This is an extremely worrisome story, if it is true. Information is based on anonymous "Israeli military sources." The reputation of the London Times is enough for me to believe that the sourcing is accurate. This tends to corroborate articles written by Seymour Hirsh, whose sources told him that the U.S. was considering a nuclear military attack on Iran. According to him, the nuclear option was removed but plans for an American bombing campaign upon Iran remain in place. For some reason, both the U.S. and Israeli governments think it is a reasonable thing to talk openly about a voluntary war of aggression upon Iran. Article refers to the discredited mistranslation from Ahmadinejad, where he was alleged to have said that "Israel must be wiped off the map" but was, according to Juan Cole, more along the lines that the current Israeli administration must go. Unfortunately, there are no other references - even glancingly - to Iran's point of view, including that no evidence of an Iranian nuclear weapons program has ever been presented. Article is reported from the Israeli and American tactical / military points of view - nothing about voices of sanity who might take issue with the idea.
