the writer faults the liberals' history of not investing in media outlets to counter the incredibly aggressive media of the other. there's no mention of recent buyouts in the d.c. markets by right-wing voices, but this news confirms his point that msm outlets are dying out, leaving no real replacement for the fact-finding, digging, on-going reporting to major segments of the population, thus threatening democracy.
