Ancient acidification

Earth's climate warmed for unknown reasons about 40 million years ago, in the middle of a long-term cooling trend. The short announcement of the study sheds a light on past climate history and potential effects of the current cycle of increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the oceans in terms of temperature changes and the length of time the changes persisted.
