British, French nuclear subs collide in Atlantic

The incident is reported, but the implications and risks involved are only lightly skimmed. Presuming the 31 missiles are MIRVs, that is over 100 nuclear warheads that could get scattered on the ocean bottom. Suspicions that a sub loss was a hostile act of war could ignite tensions and risk attacks.

“This reminds us that we could have a new catastrophe with a nuclear submarine at any moment,” Lhomme said.

Humans should eliminate nuclear weapons.
