Pelosi's approval rating: lower than Bush's?

You wouldn't know that from the press coverage. Eugene Volokh notes that things aren't quite as close as they appear. He's right to note that, and I should have followed the links myself. I'm guessing, though, that these numbers would be getting a lot more press attention anyway if the party affiliations were reversed. Full Story »

I'd like to know if Pelosi's approval rating is in fact as low as the author suggests. But this post seems partisan, and does not provide original information. Still worth investigating further. See other related stories on this topic.

There's an update on Instapundit that says oops maybe it's the other way around. Also, I went back to the source (Rasmussen Reports), but did not find a statement on methodology (sample size, margin of error, etc). Also noticed that their reports on President Bush's approval rating have been higher than Gallup's.

This isn't even a blog - it's a review of a blog article which compares Nancy Pelosi's popularity with Bush's job performance ratings based on Rasmussen polls - a single poll for Pelosi and a series of polls for Bush. The topic is a non-issue of little importance.

All polling data I read has Bush in the 20's right along with Congress. Let's say it's true, the 18% undecided on Pelosi is what in Play here. She will not be an unknown quanity for long.
