Schjeldahl doesn't show his work. But with the current lawsuits between Fairey and the AP, I want to know what all the fuss is about. Drawing a parallel between Fairey and Warhol gave me a sense of who both artists are, without drawing the parallel out too far.

Not living in America, this image is one of the touchstones I have for the sentiment of hope prevalent in American in the second half of last year. I had no idea Fairey was responsible for the Obey t-shirt--iconic stuff.
