NewsTrust is dedicated to the idea that good journalism is "fair" and even more than that, "balanced." This essay does not attempt to be fair and it uses passionate, pejorative language to describe the current American economic system. But it is good journalism. Was Tom Paine fair to the British? No. Was he a fine and honest writer? Yes, he was.
