Good report, confirming that the Russians think there is no military solution to the Afghan insurgency. This by the way is the opinion of the Iranians, and of many European countries.

Why spend hundreds of billions of US taxpayer dollars on a military adventure that by all accounts has only made Afghanistan and Pakistan more unstable? Why not let Russia, Iran and China work out a means of quietening things down in Afghanistan, and pull Nato forces (including US) out?
