Senior US soldiers investigated over missing Iraq reconstruction billions

In what could turn out to be the greatest fraud in US history, American authorities have started to investigate the alleged role of senior military officers in the misuse of $125bn (£88bn) in a US -directed effort to reconstruct Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. I'm recommending this story as it is interesting and if true should lead us to other stories on the subject with some direct quotes from sources. This piece has entirely too many anonymous quotes, to many unsubstantiated allegations and is too vague to be called quality journalism. Perhaps it's just on the leading edge of the story though and there isn't that sort of detail available yet. It would have been nice if the author had addressed that fact, however.

This is a major indictment that deserves our attention.
