this article lays out the spending of the bill sorted to large areas of outlay, such as education, science, etc. it's also the first i've read which points out where the changes were made along the way, which helps readers judge what they will miss or what they like better. some surprises for almost anyone who didn't know the final tally, in how much for particular projects.

Whoa. I can't imagine how this much money will be spent. With all the crooks who will find a way to get their hands on this is staggering. The times did a great job of getting this much information out so fast.

Obama pretty much kept his word, and in this day and age that's rare. I don't know about a lot of the bill, but what it does for the poor is great.

The editors were smart to break the story into short units. It let the several writers focus on their own topics and provided a piece that someone in a hurry could scan for the field they were most interested in. The traditional narrative structure might have had comparable reporting, but the smart organization made this piece very user-friendly.

I hate the thought of spending this much money, this fast, but the preponderance of discussion that I've seen convinces me that it has to be done. It's lamentable that one party made it such a partisan discussion.
