While pointing out the rapidity with which Obama has achieved a major victory is interesting, it doesn't follow that speed is what Americans should be caring about in the legislative process, and that is not considered in this piece.

When sources come from politicians, I usually do not put a lot of credence in them, but the bill did pass so Obama does have a lot to crow about. But I wouldn't crow long, look what happened to Custer.

While this bill seems to have a little something for everybody, who knows whats really in there, nobody's read it.

The congratulatory tone of the article is one more of a Fan club than a major paper. The vast amounts of pork included and promises of more in future packages was left out all together which IS the real story. The writer also failed to mention the Bill had been virtually preapproved before the Swearing in Ceramony and it hadn't been put to paper yet.

The Washington Post has swung low on this one. Citing passage of Roosevelt's 1933 Bill as cmparison is frightening as it didn't work to any useful degree, the Depression ended effectively 9 years later.

Obama got an incredibly bad bill through by his super majorities. He broke his campaign promises to be open and to hold bills until there was time to read them and have open debate. Did not mention abusive parts of bill - turning clock back on welfare reform - funding interest groups like acorn - first steps toward socialized medicine.

This will come back to haunt Obama.
