Ohio Republican Admits FDR Did Not Cause The Depression

One of the talking points that the GOP has attempted to deploy in the battle over the stimulus package is, "Hey! Remember that New Deal dealie? Boy, howdy, wasn't that a massive failure!" Oooh, oooh! And what if the Nazis had gotten the bomb? Then we'd be in some serious doo-doo, tra-la-la!"

A congressional representative in Ohio appears to not have a clear understanding of the new deal and its impact on the Great Depression, but this article offers little else to justify writing the story. Links to other stories supporting the comments in the first paragraph might have helped. The chart provided is beyond weak. What do the percentages on the right hand side of the graph represent? Percentages of what? (Perhaps Rachel Maddow explained on her show, where this was sourced.)

Countering the big lie techniques being employed by Steve Austria and the republican party requires calling them on it and presenting valid history to counter the lie. This article helps perform that function.

Now if only the counter to the lie could be seen/heard by as many people as have heard the repeated big lie! Good on the Columbus Dispatch for their part.
