Israel's elections and U.S. policy

srael appears poised to install as Prime Minister someone whose criticisms have been that Israel hasn’t gone far enough and who vows even more severe aggression. Superb brief commentary by Glenn Greenwald, who sees Israel as posing a threat to US national interests.

Israel indeed is a threat to the national interests of the US, and to the entire Middle East. The murderous rampages in Lebanon in 2006 and Gaza in 2008-09 had the full blessing of the arrogant ignoramus who recently left the White House (and the blessing of Dick Cheney who saw Israel's help as useful in subverting the Republic by endless war in the Middle East).
