Throwing schools out the window

So this is what the Senate seems to be coming down to: keeping bridges and throwing students out the window. The effort to prune the stimulus package to make it more palatable to Republicans is focused on slashing money for education.

some very good points are made here about cutting education plans from the stimulus package, including the importance of giving money to states, and the economic stimulus ed. money will provide. keeping jobs clearly is as important as creating jobs, tho many in congress apparently see only private sector jobs as real ones.
