I think this is good journalism because it is an interesting topic. Most stories involving the LGBT community deal with their parades, rallies, political activism etc. This article instead focuses on a place where the LGBT community is not only wlecomed but encouraged to come and relax. Expert sources are cited a few times thus providing more credibilty and quotes from people who have experienced this first hand. I am not sure how current or surprising the story is, but i think that it is well-written and gets to the point. The journalist chose to tell a specific story about the gay community in West Hollywood and succeeded in doing so.
