An interesting interview, emphasizing that it won't be easy to make any kind of lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, especially in Gaza. And it notes the diminished influence of the US vis a vis mid east nations. And it makes the interesting assumption that Shalit is still alive!

The problem keeps being that Hamas wants to destroy Israel and Israel wants to destroy Hamas - and neither can accomplish this aim. Until each side gets that through its collective head, nothing will be accomplished.
