There are a lot of general, unqualified statements in here, but the article follows the communications and makes a pretty compelling case that these groups are in contact.

This is a British example of extreme right wing groups. It appears that the hot button issues have moved from social issues to anti-Islamic and anti-immigration issues. The Cato Institute has ties to the Koch Brothers and other businessmen who financially support far right groups. I am all for exports but not this type of export. The article is well written and important.

On the basis of my own research on the Tea Party movement and it's growing influence (some original good, but like all movements morphing into an out of control hysteria monger to achieve covert objectives) I sense the article is objective and is well resourced to allow fact checking. This is my first encounter with this news source therefore I cannot answer the question re: trust in this publicatiomn.

This opinion piece has minimal journalistic merit. The author has not done any research on the multi-faceted tea-party movement, but simply picks examples to fit his prejudices. He is not aware that the tea-party groups are the strongest supporters of women and minority candidates in the U.S., likely to elect the first women governors in South Carolina, Oklahoma, New Mexico and California, for example.
