The economic stimulus package before the Senate contains nearly $160 billion in spending for education. That's enough to more than double what the federal government currently spends. Bare ones school budgets are by and large a myth as a quick look at education spending will show. For example in California they spend $250,000+ per year per classroom. This is strictly education lobby propaganda.
