Coral Springs school accused of fraud over vouchers

Academy High in Coral Springs claimed the right to taxpayer money for students with disabilities who had already graduated or withdrawn, the state said.

More than 300 disabled students who attend a Coral Springs private school using public money can no longer use those vouchers to pay their tuition because the state said Friday the school has committed fraud.

This story provides a micro-view of one of the downsides to school voucher programs; potential for fraud. This is a local story, but it would have benefited from some state or national context on the financial cost of voucher programs as they relate to public education expenditures as a whole.

If Sgt. McHugh from the Coral Springs Sheriff's Office is investigating this school for organized crime, then there must be something going on. Ms Kaufman may not answer here phone now, but her lawyer will in do coarse.

You think you've hear it all about people stealing, and then you find out their robbing disabled kids.Shit!
