Posted by Lynn Caporalethis story icontains much more information than most about the vote in the house on the stimulus bill, pointing out the real inconsistencies in the republican arguments. it is sometimes hard to follow but, i echo the review that points out that the msm would serve citizens much better if they focused on real information than on personalities' views.
In contrast to most reports that focus on the politics, this analysis describes the actual legislation proposed and voted on by the Republicans, and the actual analysis by the economists they cite. It would be far more valuable for most readers if, as is done by Lilly here, reporters covered the details of the legislation that actually is voted upon, rather than simply comment on the talking points given at microphones.
I'd bet a dollar to a donut that the 170 congressmen didn't either read the package or didn't understand it. I'm of average intelligence and I don't understand anything but the outline of it. You can't tell me all 170 voted the same way because they all came to the same conclusion.
This also cuts both ways. There's no way the other party could also come to the same conclusion. But the sitting President should get the benefit of the doubt.
