Good report, with transcript, of Obama's interview. Obama asserts in it, that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons when there is no evidence of this whatever. Obama also refers to the Saudi peace plan, but sugests he does not buy into it entirely, which is a mistake in my view.

I'm afraid I see the hand of Dennis Ross and other Aipac demonizers of Iran at work, when Obama refers to "Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons" without having any evidence to support this charge. The head of the IAEA, Mohammed ElBaradei, thinks there is no covert Iranian nuclear weapons program, and this viewpoint is shared by the Russians who oppose any Iranian nuclear weapons capability.

It was a good interview, and I can hear the Far-right shouting from the capital stairs "Traitor". By even talking to an Arabic newspaper, the majority of the people that voted for McCain will be saying I told you so. Obama is doing the things he said he would do. Opening a dialog with our enemies, not just our friends. If you only talk to the people you know, how are we going to figure out what they want.

It's been said "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer"

The story does little to put the interview in context, and is mostly a simple transcript. I assume that this could also be found on the White House Web site, and I'd expect more analysis and focus in a news story besides this brief story.
