Thompson spends all his ink echoing the positions of pro-nuke voices. On this extremely important topic he is irresponsible in not getting the views of those who understand the engineering and the physics of nuclear weapons. The experts who evaluate the technical functionality of the pits have always said they remain functional and ready.

Journalism that can only quote from generals and the military industrial media complex on topics of war and military expenditures is journalism without view of the ethics of science nor the the ethics of human survival on the planet.
