while the writer's discussion becomes somewhat abstruse, this opinion presents an interesting question related to the solution of an agreement. perhaps it is not the primary obstacle to that however, the issue raised here adds another layer of obstacle to the process and logically, needlessly. the article places the demand on the level of nations with which israel would not want to be associated.

This is an opinion piece. The author has written a book which provides an authoritative underpinning in fact for this opinion.

Shlomo Sand really points out a lot of inconsistencies in the Israeli narrative this little, rather sharp piece. You need to read his book to understand the social and historical context fully.
