Superb commentary on the catastrophe that befell America these past eight years. Robert Parry gives great credit to corporate media which fostered a collective foolishness on the part of the public, and enabled the Bush administration to attempt to subvert the Republic.

The confluence of corporate media, the ever-more-powerful military-industrial complex, and the Israel lobby (including Christian Zionists) set up the nation for the catastrophe that befell it. Aipac helped the Republicans subvert the Republic, by coopting the Democrats, all in an idiotic quest to "protect" Israel and enable it to keep the illegal colonies of Jewish fanatics in the West Bank, and the Golan Heights.
