Gazan who worked for peace loses his 3 daughters in war

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Gazan and a doctor who has devoted his life to medicine and reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.

"I dedicated my life really for peace, for medicine," said Abuelaish, who does joint research projects with Israeli physicians and for years has worked as something of a one-man force to bring injured and ailing Gazans for treatment in Israel.

"This is the path I believed in and what I raised and educated my children to believe."

Killed Friday were daughter Bisan, 20; Mayar, 15; and Aya, 13. The doctor's niece who died, Nur Abuelaish, was 17. Full Story »

This article cites another tragic example of the toll to civilians during Israel's war on Gaza. This instance is noteworthy and relevant because of this Palestinian doctor's close ties to Israel and his lifetime of peace/reconciliation work.

So many innocent civilians have been killed and even seemingly targeted during this incursion into Gaza. There must be a thorough, objective investigation into why this has repeatedly occurred.

The harsh irony of military force run amok kills the children of a man who has devoted his life to working for peace.

The link show the doctor being interviewed on Israeli TV as his daughters are killed.

Another family destroyed by Hamas. They fire upon Israeli civilians until they force a response, and then they retreat to densely populated Palestinian areas wearing civilian clothing.
