Hamas announces ceasefire in Gaza

The Palestinian militant group Hamas has announced an immediate ceasefire with Israel in Gaza.

A statement read by a Hamas spokesman said the group would hold fire for a week to give Israel time to withdraw its forces from the Gaza Strip.

The move came hours after a unilateral Israeli ceasefire came into effect.

Decent first-report-under-cease-fire, gives a general summary of the political chess game, brief descriptions of some of the damage, casual mention of the uneven death ratio of 100 Palestinians per Israeli killed. The video was more indicative of the damage to buildings and infrastructure, but both fall short of capturing the imbalance between the IDF military's virtually unopposed assault and 1.5 million primarily unarmed and defenseless Palestinian civilians.
