Israel Declares It Will Cease Fire; U.N. School Hit

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel announced late Saturday night that the Israeli military would begin a unilateral cease-fire in Gaza within hours while negotiations continued on how to stop the resupply of Hamas through smuggling from Egypt.

Interesting look at the political intrigue by many nations, all trying to have influence on what becomes of Gaza, without talking to any representatives of Gaza in the process. Limited in accurately reflecting the disproportionate power of the Israeli Defense Forces against unarmed civilians and poorly armed 'terrorists' in Gaza.

I appreciated the inclusion of comments by the Unrwa representatives about the Israeli military firings on UN schools and raising the question of war crimes. But this article would benefit greatly from elaborating on the imbalance of power between the IDF and overwhelmingly civilian Gaza. I would like Ehud Olmert to tell me how there is any difference between his assault on Gaza today and the Nazi annihilation of the Warsaw Ghetto in World War II.
