Outstanding report on serious accusations facing Israel for its alleged war crimes, which have created an uproar in the Arab world and the West. The article provides extensive factual evidence to document the disproportionate use of force against unarmed civilians by the Israeli military, whose conduct is largely condemned by human right groups and independent observers from around the world.

As an American citizen, I am deeply disturbed by -- and ashamed of -- the Bush Administration's inability to stop Israel's despicable tactics. We should have done a lot more to stop this atrocity. I hope the new Obama Administration can play a more forceful role in preventing such abuses in the future.
