Whatever the military and political results of Israel’s 21-day war against Hamas in Gaza, Israel is again facing serious accusations and anguished questioning over the legality of its military conduct. As an American citizen, I am deeply disturbed by -- and ashamed of -- the Bush Administration's inability to stop Israel's despicable tactics. We should have done a lot more to stop this atrocity. I hope the new Obama Administration can play a more forceful role in preventing such abuses in the future.
