Terribly Bloodied, Still Breathing

We have learned the language of the war that the Israelis are waging on the collective captive population of Gaza- to distinguish between the sounds of the weaponry used, the timing between the first missile strikes and the inevitable second- targeting those that rush to tend to and evacuate the wounded, to recognize the signs of the different chemical weapons being used in this onslaught, to overcome the initial vulnerability of recognizing our own mortality. Moving eyewitness report from the field in Gaza, written by an Irish human rights activist working in Jabaliya and Gaza City as a volunteer with ambulance services and as co-coordinator for the Free Gaza Movement. She describes in vivid detail some the scenes she witnessed on one of the bloodiest days since the start of the war (75 dead on that day, out of 1,100 in the past 21 days). While she tries hard to remain neutral, the author's viewpoint comes out clearly, as she praises the spirit of solidarity and steadfastness of Gaza.

There are no safe places here, for anyone. More »

This has the emotionally compelling detail of a first person account, and adds the context of some casualty numbers (no source given). Clearly telling the Palestinian side of the story, it makes claims regarding Israeli tactics in a neutral tone, but supported only with anecdotal evidence.

Close-up account of the mangled bodies piling up in hospitals and elsewhere in Gaza, thanks to the murderous Israeli rampage where many of the victims are women and children.

Israel's leaders suffer from the delusion enough Palestinians can be killed to enable retention of the illegal colonies of fanatical Jews splattered all over the West Bank. US taxpayers squander tens of billions of dollars annually to enable Israel to continue its savage repression of the Palestinians and the continuing theft of Palestinian land, water, civil rights, dignity, etc. etc. etc.

This piece rates high, for drama, for detail, for a sense of witness in its pure narration, with the best stories that come out of wartime journalism. Even the testimonial, which some may see as "partial to the Palestinians" gives witness to a continuation of dedication in the face of this terrible onslaught of high technology and relentlessness.

While I'm sure the person that wrote this is biased, I believe every goddam word of it.

I just saw on T.V. where there is a conditional ceasefire, by Israel, Hama say's there will be no peace until every Israeli has left Gaza. If this peace does hold up, how long does Israel think it will take to re-arm. There stated mission is to drive the Israel's into the sea. Somebody please tell me what this accomplished? In a year or less it will be Deja-vu.
