The six month truce between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip mediated by Egypt ended on December 19. Following the end of that ceasefire, tensions and violence escalated between Israel and Hamas. On December 27, airstrikes by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) hit over 40 Hamas targets in Gaza. blogs--poignant, moving , even matter-of -fact voices, many directly connected to the terror and hardship of the bombing in gaza, . others from elsewhere, yet feeling connected, react with concern and understanding. a voice from egypt urges against choosing sides, as palestinians are victims of both. a very effective means for illustrating the scope of this tragedy for those of us whose normal lives are not made up of daily loss and the despair that follows.
